About Anne

Anne Boeykens graduated with highest distinction at the Royal Flemish School of Music in Antwerp under the direction of her worldknown father Walter Boeykens.

At present she plays as a soloist with the Vlaams Radio Orkest (Flemish Radio Orchestra). She also plays chamber music and establishes herself at home and abroad more and more as a soloist, f. e. at the Festival van Vlaanderen (Flanders Festival), the Salzburger Schlossconzerte (with members of the Camerata Academica, the Mozarteum Orchestra and the Salzburger Soloists), at the Schwarzwalder Musiktage and many other music festivals. With her father Walter Boeykens she regularly plays the less known but fascinating concertos for two clarinets of Hoffmeister, Krommer and Mendelssohn.

Anne and Walter Boeykens

She is often asked to play creations from well-known Belgian composers, and recorded also some important compositions for clarinet as the double concertos from Hoffmeister & Krommer with Walter Boeykens and the clarinet quintet from Mozart & Weber with the Rubio String-quartet.

Anne Boeykens is regularly invited by Belgian orchestras to perform as soloist, f.e. by the BeethovenAcademy, the Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie, La Squadra… The CD Colori (label EMI) has been especially composed by Jan Van Der Roost for her father and herself.
